Promoting your blogs on the LoveBiz Networking® website

We are very pleased to introduce the new blog page on the LoveBiz Networking® website. LoveBiz is focused on helping our members to promote your businesses, and blogging is a fabulous way to do that.

Of course, with any sort of open blogging we do have to implement some guidelines, so please read through the details below carefully before submitting your content.

Why post your own content on the LoveBiz Networking® website?

We want to do everything we can to help you promote your business. Writing a blog is a great way to expand on what you do and to share your expertise. Once it’s on the website it’s visible to the public, including visitors and future members.

We will also share and promote it on our social media pages and in our members group – which means your chosen message can get to every single member of LoveBiz at once. It’s like your 10-minute Member Spotlight – but to every area at once.

What should I write about?

Your blog doesn’t have to be an introduction or profile about yourself. You could use the opportunity to demonstrate an aspect of your business in more detail. The most engaging blogs can be educational. How about:

Five vegetables you can grow in a Hydroveg Kit.

The different types of bras and what they do to your cleavage.

How hypnotherapy helps you fly.

If you’re not sure how to explain a service, try writing a case study. Tell us about a client you helped (changing the names when necessary) and the difference you made. Your blog can be about whatever you like – and we’ll get a feel for your business and your tone of voice just by reading it.

So – what are the rules?

I know – you can’t wait to get started. But there do have to be some guidelines. So, here goes:

Length: How long is a piece of string? Well, we’re going to say that your blog needs to be a minimum of 500 words. This gives you a real chance to add some value to your post. As for the maximum – well, that depends on how much detail you want to go into, but please note our super strict editor will highlight any waffle. You will lose readers if you don’t keep it to the point.

Links: You can post about 1 link per 300 words. This is a guide – you don’t have to post any, or you might have more. But please remember that they must be either to your own website or a quality source. For example, a medical comment might link to the NHS, but never to Wiki.

Author Bio: Please write a short author bio along with your blog of up to 40 words, plus one link to your website.

Original content: Your blog must be unique content written for the LoveBiz Networking® website, and not duplicated from elsewhere. You are, of course, welcome to promote your post on our website by linking to it from your socials.

Pictures: Please provide up to three pictures with your content. Any pictures you provide must be your own, and you must have permission to provide and use them.

Ownership: By submitting content to the LoveBiz website, you agree that ownership and copyright of the content is passed to LoveBiz Networking®.

What if I’m not great at writing a blog?

Honestly, you really will write a great blog post because it’s about your business and your passion. But there are some tricks you can do to help. First, if writing isn’t your thing, try dictating your content to an app that will transcribe it for you. Then you can just tidy it up afterwards.

Secondly, imagine that it’s not a blog, it’s just a conversation you’re having with a client. How would you explain it to another person?

Thirdly, once you finish writing your post, walk away. Take a break, have a cuppa or sleep on it. Then re-read it again. You’re more likely to spot things when you look at it fresh. Use Grammerly or a spell-checker. And – Sue’s favourite tip – read it backwards. Start from the bottom and read each paragraph out of order. That way you are more likely to spot typos.

Submitting and editing your blog content

When you are ready, please email your blog post and pictures to blog@lovebiznetworking.co.uk

In doing so you will have confirmed your understanding of the guidelines and agree that ownership of your content has passed to LoveBiz Networking® to be shared on our website and social media.

Your blogs will be reviewed by our super strict (but not too mean) editor Gayle Edwards, GECopywriter. We may make some minor changes. If your blog post requires substantial editing, we’ll return it to you with some suggestions.

Of course, if you would prefer to, you can just contact Gayle directly through her business (and with no connection to LoveBiz Networking®) and ask her about her writing and editing services, so that you are fully satisfied with your content before it goes live.

When will my blog go live?

When we first suggested this on the Facebook group there was a tremendous response. We loved the enthusiasm and it’s clear we will receive a lot of entries. We’ll be posting blogs once a fortnight while we get started. Blogs will be posted on a first come, first served basis. We will post one blog per member until we run out of submissions, and then we can start again. If you are not a prolific writer, don’t panic. You will get you turn.

So – what are you waiting for? If you want to have an extra Member Spotlight moment and share your business with every member of LoveBiz at once – send in your blog posts.
